Amen...Jim, we had this discussion in our small group the week when we discussed Mark 7. The piety of the Pharisees allowed them to sin against their own parents (Is 58: 7 ...hide from own flesh). I am searching my soul to find how I justify avoiding the hard work of serving others. It has to start with my wife and kids and please Lord help me open my eyes to the suffering on my street. I want to serve, but I have difficulty seeing what this looks like in my own life.
